Adblock Plus Releases a Standalone Browser on Android
Adblock Plus launches Adblock Browser: Firefox for Android with built-in ad blocking
Adblock
Plus today launched Adblock Browser for Android. Currently in beta, the
company’s first browser was created by taking the open-source Firefox
for Android and including Adblock Plus out-of-the-box
In fact, not only does Adblock Plus promise shorter load times and a
reduced chance of dealing with malware, just like with its main tool, it
also believes its Android browser can lead to data usage savings and
better battery life.
.
The app is currently available as a beta for Android (which means the usual routine of joining a Google+ community to get access). By default, the browser blocks all ads, however you can manually enable an option in the settings called Acceptable Ads which Adblock Plus says “encourage(s) better ads by allowing nonintrusive ads to display.” The app is still rolling out in stages, but you can join the beta community at the source link below.
